Hometex Peru
FAQ

Questions we get before the first sample.

Direct answers, without the sales language. If yours is not here, ask us — it reaches Arequipa directly.

Who manufactures alpaca duvets in Peru?+

Hometex Peru, a boutique factory in Arequipa, and the first manufacturer in the country to produce alpaca duvets. Every piece is still filled, closed and inspected by hand, for international brands, retailers and distributors.

What is the minimum order for private label alpaca bedding?+

There is no minimum order. Development to your own specification is standard, not a surcharge — the same team holds a specification across a run of sixty units as reliably as across six hundred.

Can you make duvets, toppers and pillows to my own size chart?+

Yes. Every duvet and topper is cut to the size and fill weight you specify — your own chart, the chart your market uses, or a bed that fits no standard at all.

Where does the alpaca fibre come from?+

Directly from Peruvian alpaca farmers Hometex buys from year after year, so the fibre is traceable back to source rather than bought on the open market.

Is Hometex Peru's alpaca dyed?+

The natural collection is finished without dye, shell and fill alike — undyed organic cotton around undyed alpaca. Where a range calls for colour, as in the melange throws, it is dyed and stated as such.

Does Hometex Peru offer private label manufacturing?+

Yes. Hometex is B2B only and works exclusively in private label — the brand does not sell to the end consumer.

Can I buy without importing from South America myself?+

Yes. Selected lines ship from stock held in the United States and Europe, and Hometex invoices from a company in the buyer's own country — no international transfer, customs broker or import paperwork on the buyer's side.

What does Hometex Peru manufacture, besides duvets?+

Alpaca mattress toppers, pillows and throws, plus Baby Alpaca scarves and alpaca figurines. Hometex also works in merino wool and Peruvian pima cotton.

What is the lead time?+

It depends on the line. Throws and accessories ship from stock in 10 to 15 days; duvets, toppers and pillows depend on size, fill weight and destination.
